Dr Mary Elizabeth Lange is an independent arts, culture and heritage practitioner, researcher and author. She is an honorary associate of the Cultural Studies, Media and Fine Arts, School of Arts, at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. Mary has developed, facilitated, and assessed community programmes, independently and in collaboration with South Roots International, ARROWSA, and local, provincial, national, and international museums, for over 25 years. Her heritage interests focus on oral heritage, applied storytelling, autoethnography, and public archaeology, with a particular emphasis on fostering intercultural understanding and social impact. She is also the sole proprietor of the arts, culture and heritage company MeL (Mentor, educate, Learn).
